Indonesia’s most economical car champion

Indonesia became a champion in the competition of fuel-efficient car (the Shell Eco-Marathon; SEM) in Asia in 2010.
Winds Sweep 2 Cars Best Save Fuel. Winds Sweep second car that became the most economical car in the category of long-sized urban concept 260 cm, width 125 cm, 114 cm high and weighing 93 kilograms. Cars Sweep second wind like a conventional four-wheeled car, but only 1-2 passengers with a target containing one liter of gasoline for the distance traveled 300 kilometers.

In the first race, Sweep second wind only managed a distance of 72 km with one liter of gasoline (petrol). While in race two cars from the ITS is able to drive as far as 237.6 km with one liter of gasoline. Until the competition ends, the record was not defeated by the other participants.

Shell Eco-Marathon (Competition Car Save Fuel). Shell Eco-Marathon is an event to create a future vehicle fuel economy (able to travel the farthest distance with minimum fuel). Car Save Fuel competition first held in Asia was divided into two categories of vehicles, that is futuristic and urban prototype concept.

Category prototype design is generally followed by a vehicle that has a very aerodynamic shape and put on three pieces wheel, while the category of an urban concept vehicle is generally followed by a four-wheeled vehicles like usual, but smaller.

Fuel-efficient car competition was participated by 81 teams from 15 leading universities from various countries in Asia, including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, China, Pakistan, India, Philippines, Iran, and Indonesia. Indonesia itself is represented by nine teams. The team came from the Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) as many as three teams (origin, Rajawali, and heave), University of Indonesia (UI) with three teams (Kris, the Equator, and Pasopati), University of Gadjah Mada (UGM), one team (Semar) , and the Institute of Technology (ITS) with two teams (Sweep 1 and Sweep Wind Wind 2)

This information was posted a bit late, but at least this will awaken all of us that Indonesia is actually capable of designing fuel-efficient cars and eco-friendly, especially to reduce air pollution. Now just waiting for the concern and seriousness of the relevant parties to realize the cars are environmentally friendly.
